Todwil, a South African based company that specialises in retail-marketing solutions, recently installed a new Nike Football Zone in the Nike Sports Store, as contracted by Nike South Africa. The store, located in Bree Street in the Cape Town CBD, is the first store in Cape Town to boast an in-store Nike Football zone with Nike’s new global architecture and substrates.

The stylish zone is destined to be a football fanatic’s dream. Soccer paraphernalia and merchandise are displayed in the various modish sections of the zone.

An astroturf carpet is situated under an elegant brown leather seat, while immaculate shelf-fittings house various merchandise, as well as images of professional football players. Insignia of some of the revered clubs in the world, like Manchester United, are displayed regally at the top of the shelf fittings whilst strategically positioned lights illuminate the zone.

“To deliver a project of this nature, from technical drawing to installation, requires detailed planning and execution,” says James Wilson, head of planning and production at Todwil. “A meeting of the minds with our experts was required in the installation of the zone".

Todwil architects, interior designers and contractors were involved in the architectural, structural and lighting layout of the zone, as well as in the completion of the structural and surface work required. In-store elements had to be designed, produced, undergo a rigorous final check for quality and then installed in the store.

While this project was being completed, yet another Nike Zone was being installed at the Cross Trainer store in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town.
